"Hidden gem on the water in a boat storage yard. We went for brunch Food was fresh and well prepared staff was pleasant, attentive and well informed. I travel with a vegan and a vegetarian this place was perfect for us lots of options for all. The layered dip had just the right amount of heat with great flavor highly recommend sharing this dish to start Avocado toast was brought to another level with a pesto base under the avocado and tomato’s with a balsamic drizzle on top. Cali burrito has the fries inside tasty and unexpected. Lobster roll perfectly grilled bun heaped with fresh lobster meat they happily substituted broccolini for the fries that usually come with it. Looking forward to returning and trying the outdoor dining area looks great was a bit cold and dreary outside"

"My husband and I found this place when the place we originally came to the area for had an hour long wait. Not only did we get a lovely outside seat immediately at Nellie’s, but we had a great view and even better food quickly. Our server was super friendly, as was the hostess. It was a great surprise, and we will definitely make the trip again."

"Nellie's in Branford is a very nice spot that strikes a perfect balance between casual and sophisticated. It’s an excellent choice for a laid-back lunch or a more refined dinner. The location is fantastic, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful waterfront views. I found the prices very reasonable; I was pleasantly surprised as I expected it to be more expensive. The staff, mostly young, are friendly and attentive, adding to the pleasant dining experience. For starters, we had the tuna tartar. While I was hoping for a bit more tuna and fewer beans and corn, the taste was still quite good. The AHI Tuna wrap and Cod Sandwich were both excellent, with a special mention for the delicious tartar sauce in the Cod. Overall, Nellie’s offers a great dining experience with a nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, friendly service, and a vast parking lot. I highly recommend it!"

"While visiting Branford on a beautiful day, we decided to try Nellie’s for lunch. We were sat right by the water and really enjoyed the views of the Branford River. I thought their menu had a great variety, full of seafood, pasta dishes, and even a cali burrito, which isn’t super common to see around here! Everything was delicious, including the desserts. The server was attentive, but it did take a long time for the desserts to come out, which was kind of surprising. Definitely a low-key spot and the inside of the restaurant was really nice, I would totally visit again next time I’m in the area."

"We saw the happy hour menu online and thought it sounded good. We went this afternoon and sat at the bar. We asked for the house cab and the bartender said they didn't have a house cab and served us a glass of red without even offering the other so we thought we were getting the happy hour house red. We were then given menus which were the every day menu and we had to ask for the happy hour menu. We ordered food which was good as well as the wait time and service but when the bill came the wine was 48.00 for 4 glasses at 12.00 each instead of 24.00 for 6.00. We questioned the bartender and she said she told us they didn't have a house cab and she gave us a wine not on the happy hour menu. Had she informed us we would have gone with the house red. Not a good experience but we will know better if we do go back and we wanted to share this so it doesn't happen to you."

"We recently hosted my son's first birthday party at Nellie's and it was the perfect spot! The restaurant was beautifuly decorated and the dining room was very comfortable for our 30 guests. The food, drinks and service was wonderful! They made every step of the way simple so I could truly enjoy the party! I highly recommend Nellie's for hosting your next gathering!"

"We went on a Sunday evening (summer). Great atmosphere, good selection of drinks, menu is very nice. Sometimes they have music...all in all you can count on them for a great meal."

"We came on Saturday late night and it's pretty quiet. We ordered the special starter with prawns and pesto, it's pretty good but too salty. Then we had ahi tuna wrap and lobster roll. Lobster roll was full of meat and very juicy. The bun was soft. Very tasty. Tuna wrap was also delicious and fresh. Portions are big, came with portion of regular chips or sweet potato chips. Service was great and attentive."
